1. Introduction
ACESAT ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of our users ("you," "your," or "student"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, use, and safeguard your information when you utilize the ACESAT Mobile Application (iOS/Android) and the ACESAT Web Platform (collectively, the "Service").
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum required data to provide our adaptive learning and tutoring services:
- Account Registration Data: Name, email address, and authentication tokens provided via integrated authentication providers (Firebase, Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google).
- Academic Performance Data: User answer selections, practice test histories, response durations, and computed proficiency quotients (Theta scores) used to dynamically scale question difficulty.
- Multimodal and Media Data:
- Photographic snapshots uploaded via the "Snap & Solve" tool to process character recognition.
- Audio microphone voice recordings captured via the Interactive Socratic Coach to stream audio feedback loops.
3. How Your Data Is Processed (AI Processing)
To deliver our core interactive features, text data, audio fragments, and uploaded images are processed securely using automated third-party artificial intelligence engines (such as OpenAI API endpoints).
- Media processing happens entirely on an as-needed basis to generate your custom hint paths and speech replies.
- We do not sell, lease, or monetize your voice recordings, academic data, or image uploads to third-party data brokers.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Your personal profile records, subscription indicators, and performance indexes are stored using secure cloud databases (PostgreSQL/Supabase). We retain this data as long as your user account remains active to preserve your learning progress and consecutive streak tracking. You can request immediate profile and data deletion at any time by contacting support inside the platform.
5. Regulatory Compliance
- COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act): ACESAT is designed for high school students preparing for college admissions testing. If a user under the age of 13 registers, we do not intentionally collect their profile traits without parent/guardian authorization.
- GDPR and CCPA: Users residing in the European Union and California hold explicit legal rights to request access to, correction of, or complete erasure of their data portfolios stored within our networks.
